1st NTF-ELCAC EXECOM MEETING

May 10: The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) conducted its 1st Executive Committee Meeting at 2nd floor Conference Room, Bonifacio Hall Malacanang Palace, Manila.
The meeting was an opportunity to afford a briefing on Executive Order No. 70; provide updates on the Presidential Directive on Barangay Development Plan; and a venue to designate Cabinet Officers for Regional Development and Security to lead the 17 Joint Regional Task Forces. Present during the meeting were Vice President Sara Duterte, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, National Security Agency Secretary Eduardo Año, Department of Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla, National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Chairperson Allen A. Capuyan, NTF-ELCAC Executive Director Ernesto Torres, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines – General Andres Centino, Philippine National Police Chief – General Benjamin Acorda Jr., among other national government agency representatives.
The NTF-ELCAC aimed to prioritize and harmonize the delivery of basic services and social development packages in conflict-affected areas and vulnerable communities, facilitate societal inclusivity and ensure active participation of all sectors of society in the pursuit of the country’s peace agenda.
