2023 Cultural Communities Week Features Indigenous Peoples Games

On 10 July 2023 at 9:00AM onwards, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), in support to Proclamation No. 250, Series of 1998, “Declaring the Period from July 3-9, 1988 and Thereafter the Second Week of July of Every Year as “Cultural Communities Week”, will be spearheading this year’s celebration via Zoom.
Anchored on the PDP 2023-2028 Chapter 2.3. Establish Livable Communities with culture-specific strategy of strengthening social cohesion where communities shall be encouraged to participate in cultural, recreational, and sports activities, 2023 Cultural Communities Week (CCW) celebration aims to showcase IP Games and Sports.
The theme for this year’s celebration is “Mga Laro ng Salinlahi, Saligang Haligi ng Katutubong Lipi” or “Traditional Games, Basic Pillar of Indigeneity”.
The NCIP invited the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) to highlight their program and activities relating to IP Games and their efforts to keep them alive and be enjoyed by everyone. Messages through AVPs and social media cards by renowned supporters of Indigenous Peoples will also be shared during the program.
On behalf of the Philippine Indigenous Cultural Communities (ICCs)/IPs, the NCIP enjoins and welcomes all our partner stakeholders in celebrating this festive event which will be streamed live on the NCIP Official Facebook Page.
