2023 INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW (IHL) MONTH
The NCIP through the Foreign-Assisted Programs and International Relations Office (FAPIRO) and the Office of Empowerment and Human Rights (OEHR) joins the nation in commemorating the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month this August and the observance of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Day on 12 August 2023.
This year’s celebration is themed, “IHL: Gabay sa Makataong Pagsulong ng Kapayapaan” or IHL: Guide to Humanitarian Advancement of Peace, which emphasizes the ongoing and vital role of IHL in fostering peace and safeguarding the rights and dignity of individuals affected by armed conflict.
Former Senator Richard J. Gordon, Chairman of the Philippine Red Cross, along with key National Government Agencies (NGAs) reaffirmed and pledged to continue the recognition, respect, defend, and fulfill the dignity and rights of every individual, enhance the culture of human rights, advocate the IHL and the Rule of Law, and stand firm as protectors of the Filipino people and the state.
