As We Celebrate Indigenous Peoples Month and the Commemoration

As we celebrate Indigenous Peoples Month and the commemoration of the 23rd year of the passage of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA), we endeavor to recognize all the voices of our communities in the region not just by diligently fulfilling our mandate, but also by providing avenues where they can express their plight as a people, their worldviews as indigenous, and aspirations for their communities.

As such, NCIP Region 3 proudly presents the Central Luzon IP Women’s Conference 2020 with the theme “Correcting Historical Injustices by Recognizing the Role of IP Women in Community Development”. The digital conference is led by select IP Women from different Indigenous Cultural Communities in the Region, highlighting the primordial role of IP Women in key community development thematic–indigenous education, indigenous health, indigenous justice system and customary laws, indigenous governance, peacebuilding, socioeconomic and community enterprises, environmental protection.

With the special participation of NCIP Commissioner for Central Mindanao, Boi Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las, and Manobo artist, singer and songwriter Bae Bayang Barrios, the conference is envisioned to put our advocacy for Central Luzon IP Women agenda to greater and wider traction and engagement.

We are glad to invite the public to watch our streaming on October 23, 2020, Friday, 9 AM via NCIP Region 3 official Facebook Page.
