03 October 2023 | National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Chairperson Jennifer Pia T. Sibug-Las met National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) Secretariat Executive Director Ernesto C. Torres Jr. for a Courtesy Call in Manila City.
The meeting aimed to orient the Chairperson of NTF-ELCAC Key Programs/Activities. Possible areas of collaboration were also discussed to attain peace and sustainable development among Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs) in their Ancestral Domain/Lands.
The Chairperson appreciated the efforts of NTF-ELCAC to promote unity, lasting peace and sustainable development for ICCs/IPs who are most vulnerable to radicalism. She also expressed her support to Exec. Dir. Torres in their campaign to end armed conflict in the country.
