MICRO ICE PLANT BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY OFFERED TO THE ICCs/IPs
On 27 January 2023, the Office on Socio-Economic Services and Special Concerns (OSESSC) in partnership with the BAYAN SEARCH and Palamigan Co. conducted an online business orientation and potential access to funding for the interested ICCs/IPs to establish their own micro ice plant business.
Mr. John Xavier Francia, the Executive Director of BAYAN SEARCH, and Mr. Rodmark Barriga, the CEO of Palamigan Co. presented and discussed the business model and concepts of the micro ice plants, and how the ICCs/IPs can avail the said business opportunity. The project aims to promote community-based social enterprise using the BRIM or Brine Immersion Machine, a low-cost ice plant technology that can produce more than tons of ice per day.
Through the efforts of the BAYAN SEARCH and Palamigan Co., the Forest Foundation Philippines will fund the micro ice plants of the interested and selected communities from Cagayan Valley, Isabela, Zambales, Aurora, Quezon, Palawan, Leyte, Samar, Bukidnon, and Siargao.
106 participants from the various ICCs/IPs from the abovementioned provinces attended and actively participated in the discussion. The NCIP leadership led by its Chairperson, Hon. Allen A. Capuyan, the OSESSC Director, Atty Geroncio R. Aguio, and the Socio-Economic Development Division team fully support this undertaking and commit to bringing this endeavor to fruition.###
