MOA EXPLORATORY MEETING WITH PCA, DA, CDA, AND DSWD TO OPERATIONALIZE THE 11 BUILDING BLOCKS COLLABORATIVE FRAMEWORK
On 18 and 19 January 2023, the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) through the Office on Socio-Economic Services and Special Concerns (OSESSC) has met with the representatives from the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Department of Agriculture (DA), Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
The objective of the meeting is to discuss the collaborative framework formulated during the Focused Group Discussions held in November 2022 and shall be the reference in identifying the areas of partnership to concretize the operationalization of the 11 Building Blocks for resilient, responsive, and relevant Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples with a Memorandum of Agreement.
These efforts will not just ensure convergence and harmonization of policies, anti-poverty programs, projects, and services within the mandate of the respective partner NGAs, but more so, the assertion of Section 25 of IPRA on the Basic Services, with which the ICCs/IPs have the right to special measures for the immediate, effective and continuing improvement of their economic and social conditions…###
