Coincidental the day resonate well as August 9th is an official holiday precisely to pay homage and recognises the significant contribution played by women centuries ago towards our own freedom and emancipation of women in general.
The government of South Africa has indeed recognises the first person with its origin being in Africa and early human formation found in South Africa.
Therefore government saw it befitting to recognise by engraving them in our country’s Code of Arms. The spear, animal skin and beads as their original attire of which we today still celebrate and dress up on many formal and traditional events. South Africa remains committed to advancing and promoting indigenous tradition, culture while empowering women in particular as they are the custodian of our culture and have over the years irrespective of colonilisation & oppression held on the values which have been passed on from generation to generation including traditional medicines which is still vastly used in Africa to day.”
