THE NCIP AND DOT MEET AGAIN TO DISCUSS THE MOA AND ENHANCE PROJECT PROPOSALS FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE KATUTUBO-KAPWA PROJECT
On 07 June 2023, the NCIP Central Office with Regional Office 2, CAR, and Caraga sat down for a productive meeting with the Department of Tourism – Office of Special Concerns (DOT-OSC) to further review proposals for the pilot areas on tourism-related projects of the ICCs/IPs pertinent to the implementation of the Katutubo-KAPWA Project.
During the meeting, the NCIP and DOT expressed their strong commitment to polishing the project proposals to benefit the ICCs/IPs in Regions 2, CAR, and Caraga. The discussion is conducive to the forthcoming partnership between the NCIP and DOT through the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to be held soon.
Chairperson Allen A. Capuyan also joined the meeting to pay courtesy to DOT representatives. The Chairperson shared his valuable insights and vision on the potential development of a tourism and cultural highway in the Ancestral Domains for its rich cultural heritage and traditional practices and showcasing the wonders and the exceptional beauty of each ancestral domain. Thus, the viability for DOT-accredited travel agencies to include tours in the Ancestral Domains in their travel package offering to foreign and local tourists.
