28 March | The NCIP represented by Acting Bureau Director Glenda Alcantara Pua of the OSESSC, with Ms. Chatty Anne Decena of the OPPR attended the Joint Technical Action Officer – Technical Working Group (TAO-TWG) Meeting of the Basic Sector and the Government Sector chaired by the Lead Convenor, Secretary Lope B. Santos III of the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), held at Bayview Hotel, Roxas Boulevard, Ermita, Manila.
The Indigenous Peoples is among the NAPC 14 Basic Sectors, and the NCIP is among the 24 Member Agencies from the National Government that forms part of the NAPC who serves as the coordinating and advisory body for the implementation of the social reform and poverty alleviation agenda of the country.
The said joint meeting focused its discussion on the updates on the NAPC 25th Founding Anniversary celebration and preparation of milestone reports on the 25 years of fighting poverty; Updates on the draft Joint Memorandum Circular and proposed amendment on IRR for Magna Carta for the Poor; Update on the preparation and consolidation of N3A and NPRP; and sharing on “Aksyon Laban sa Kahirapan” and “Talakayan Laban sa Kahirapan” conceptualized by the NAPC Lead Convenor, Mr. Lope B. Santos III.
