NCIP Meeting with Former SEN. Manny Pacquiao

25 July 2023 || National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) paid a courtesy call to Senator Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao at Forbes Park in Makati City.
Representing NCIP were the Chairperson, together with Office of Education, Culture and Health Director Mary Grace Buasen; Division Chief Jordine Rose Ocon; and, Mr. Ed Nicolas from the Office of the Chairperson.
Sen. Pacquiao appreciated the visit and took the opportunity to express his passion to uplift the lives and image of the country and his countrymen especially the Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs).
The Chairperson highlighted that Project Epanaw1: 3 Vol CTBs and Project Epanaw2: 101 Books are geared to promote love of country and its Philippine Cultural heritage and resources within Ancestral Domain of ICCs/IPs,
On the side, Former Sen Pacquiao proposed to establish Philippines National Historical Bookstore with books in different dialect in preservation and enrichment of Indigenous language and history.
The Senator expressed his support to Project Epanaw1/2 and a partnership with NCIP to enable respect, recognition, promotion, and protection of ICCs/IPs’ rights and wellbeing.
To conclude the meeting, the Chairperson provided Project Epanaw Coffee Table Books (CTBs), 2022 Annual Accomplishment, Unmasking, and an Island Called Mazaua to the Senator.
