NCIP Zambales COVID-19 Response As of May 15, 2020

Zambales is home to most of the Indigenous Peoples in Central Luzon and the NCIP Offices at the Provincial and CSC level faced a daunting tasks of coordination, information dissemination and delivery of basic services particularly food at the onset and during the enhanced community quarantine period.

As of May 15, 2020, food and other assistance were given to 11,920 IP households in because of the timely assistance of Local Government Units, National Government Agencies particularly the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) through the coordination of NCIP Commissioner for Region 3 & Rest of Luzon Mr. Rolando Rivera, Civil Society Group particularly the Assisi Foundation Development. Inc., Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila, Christ in You Church Pampanga and Class 79 of San Isidro High School (Buguias, Benguet).

To date, relief operations are still being conducted and the NCIP Provincial Office, Cabangan CSC and San Marcelino CSC officers and staff are continuously coordinating information and logistics to and from all Indigenous Cultural Communities despite the limitation in human and economic resources.
