Overseas Promotion Campaign of China Jinan – A City of Vitality and Quality in Shizhong District
June 24, 2023 | The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) through the Office on Socio-Economic Services and Special Concerns (OSESSC) represented to the ceremonial launching of the “Overseas Promotion Campaign of China Jinan – A City of Vitality and Quality in Shizhong District” organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), China Chamber of International Commerce and Jinan Shizhong Chamber of Commerce.
During the event, Ms. Glenda Alcantara Pua delivered the speech on behalf of Chairperson Allen Capuyan, which reads:
“Da jia hao! from the more than 7,100 islands, 101 Indigenous Cultural Communities and of the more than 20 Million Philippine Indigenous Peoples. On behalf of the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples of the Republic of the Philippines under the helm of Chairperson, Hon. Allen A. Capuyan, Wǎn shang hǎo (good evening).
We would like to express our sincerest gratitude for inviting us to be part of the ceremonial launching of the Overseas Promotion Campaign of “China Jinan – A City of Vitality and Quality in Shizhong District”.
Our sincere appreciation to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Mr. Jiale Chang, Mr. Minghui Li, Mr. Peizhe Tian, and to all the workforce of CCPIT.
The relationship between the Philippines and China, which span several centuries, have been predominantly warm and cordial. The significant number of Chinese in the Philippines, as well as the Filipino diaspora in China is a testament to our country’s solid and strong diplomatic ties.
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s state visit to China in January of this year deepens China-Philippines diplomatic relations. It would broaden cooperation through bilateral agreements in agriculture, infrastructure, development cooperation, maritime security and tourism, among others. Like Jinan in China, a famous tourist city with mountains, springs, rivers, lakes and ancient cultural relics, the Philippines has a lot to offer too. The majority of the famous or even the lesser known, yet breathtaking tourist destinations in the Philippines are found in the Ancestral Domains, owned and possessed by the Indigenous Peoples.
Pres. Marcos Jr. has underscored the importance of increasing trust and cooperation with China and other nations for economic growth and sustainable development. Hence, we at the NCIP are looking forward to grand possibilities where the Indigenous Cultural Communities and Indigenous Peoples would be part of the value chain in the trade and industry that contributes to the vitality and quality in Shizhong District of Jinan China.
Again, Wǎn shang hǎo (good evening), Xie xie (thank you)”
