Setting the Scene for the East Asia and the Pacific Regional Conference on the Recognition and Formalization of Land Rights in Forest Areas

4 February 2024 | The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples, in collaboration with the World Bank, welcomes the delegates and attendees of the Regional Conference.
The event commenced with a warm recognition of participants and a gracious greetings extended to the esteemed guests, setting a positive and collaborative tone.
Following this, a captivating cultural presentation was performed by students of Palawan State University, showcasing the rich diversity and traditions of the beautiful island of Coron, Palawan.
Executive Director Mervyn H. Espadero then delivered an insightful opening remarks, highlighting the significance of the Regional Conference. Subsequently, NCIP Foreign Assisted Program and International Relations (FAPIRO) Dir. Dahlialyn Dait-Cawed shared her perspective of the conference, emphasizing the collaborative efforts towards a common goal.
The event concluded with a delightful dinner, providing an opportunity for networking and fostering connections among the attendees.
