Shaping The Future Of Shipping Seafarer 2050 – Facebook Live

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. keynotes the seafarers summit titled, ‘Shaping the Future of Shipping — Seafarer 2050 Summit’, in Pasay City on June 26, 2023.
Bringing together government ministers, regulators, non-government organizations (NGOs), shipowners, ship managers, charterers, industry leaders, and technology and infrastructure providers, the Summit aims to shed light on the elements required for a successful transformation of seafarers’ roles to meet the needs of shipping in the future. These include education and training, building capacity and resilience, recruitment and retention of seafarers, as well as ensuring that any transition is safe, equitable and human-centric.
It also tackles the risks to shipping and global trade inherent in industry transformation, and the investments and changes needed to be made to ensure that sufficient numbers of skilled seafarers are available in fulfilling the requirements of shipping in 2050.
The event is organized by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) and Filipino Shipowners Association (FSA), in partnership with the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) and International Maritime Employers’ Council (IMEC).
