Successful Conduct of Today’s Central Luzon Indigenous Women’s Conference 2020

Successful conduct of today’s Central Luzon Indigenous Women’s Conference 2020 with the theme, “Correcting Historical Injustices by Recognizing the Role of IP Women in Community Development”. It was led by select IP Women from different Indigenous Cultural Communities in the Region, with special participation of NCIP Commissioner for Central Mindanao, Boi Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las, and Manobo artist, singer and song writer Bae Bayang Barrios.

The conference highlighted the primordial role of IP Women in key community development thematics–indigenous education, indigenous health, indigenous justice system and costumary laws, indigenous governance, peace building, socioeconomic and community enterprises, environmental protection.

The conference was graced by NCIP Commissioner for Region 3 and Rest of Luzon, Roland Rivera, and NCIP Commissioner for Island Groups and the Rest of the Visayas, Jeorge Largado.

This is part of the ongoing 2020 National Indigenous Peoples Month Celebration and the 23rd Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) Commemoration.
