SUPPORT FOR IP LIVELIHOODS

In the midst of a global crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are expected to search for ways to stimulate the Indigenous Peoples (IPs) labor markets. In this regard, the PNP Balanga partners worked to find ways to support the Indigenous Cultural Communities in Bataan by providing them with logistical support and talipapa project to cope with the Covid-19 crisis. They continue to provide transportation back and forth for IPs travelling from the community going to the Bunker in Balanga to sell their products every Friday since February 2022.
Yesterday, March 29, 2022 the Grand Launching of “TALIPAPA PARA SA MGA KAPATID NA AYTA, TULONG KABUHAYAN SA PANAHON NG PANDEMYA” happened at Camp Tolentino. This activity was spearheaded by the PNP Balanga, PD PCol. Romell A. Velasco and PMaj Randy P. Apolonio, Chief PCADU with the guest of honor, PLT Gen. Rhodel Sermonia.
This activity aims to address the importance to strengthen IP livelihoods and local economies in order to ensure sustainability of their communities and securing resilience and self-reliance.
