TEBTEBBA CELEBRATION OF IP MONTH

03-05 October 2023 | National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Chairperson Jennifer Pia Sibug-Las attended the Indigenous Peoples Month Celebration hosted by Tebtebba Foundation at the Camelot Hotel in Quezon City.
The three-day activity is part of a month-long celebration of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997 to further respect, recognize, protect, and promote the rights and well-being of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs).
In her message, the NCIP Chairperson highlighted that the IPRA law underscores that ICCs/IPs are partners in nation building which aligns to the government “Bagong Pilipinas” – calling for transformation in all sectors, of society and government, reinforced by unified institutions of society, whose common objective is to realize the goals and aspirations of every Filipino.
