The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Bataan Provincial Office reports the nearing completion of all necessary data in the Recognition Book

BALANGA CITY–The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Bataan Provincial Office reports the nearing completion of all necessary data in the Recognition Book for the direct application for Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT) of Ayta Magbukun Indigenous Cultural Communities in the adjoining Municipalities of Abucay, Samal, Orani, Bagac and the City of Balanga. The 14,977.1477 hectares Ayta Magbukun ancestral domain in the Bataan peninsula is one of many needing recognition and security in the region.
In 2018, NCIP Region 3 signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Provincial Government of Bataan headed by Governor Albert Raymond Garcia, in order for the latter to allocate appropriations for the delineation of all remaining CADT application, and formulations of Ancestral Domain Sustainable Development and Protection Plan (ADSDPP) in the province. This partnership is key in fulfilling the rights of the IPs guaranteed by Republic Act 8371 also known as the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997.
