
THE NCIP AND BIOMANILA VISITS THE DUMAGAT-REMONTADO ICCs/IPs IN ANTIPOLO & TANAY RIZAL
08 May 2023 | The NCIP Office on Socio-Economic Services and Special Concerns represented by Acting Bureau Director Glenda Alcantara Pua, Admin Staff, Ms. Shanna Villado and NCIP Region 4A – Community Service Center Head, Mr. Eddielito Sumangil, together with the General Manager of Biomanila, Inc., Ms. Giselle Arroyo conducted a site assessment in the nominated pilot areas in Antipolo and Tanay Rizal to benefit the Dumagat-Remontado ICCs/IPs. The site assessment and actual area survey will determine their eligibility to Biomanila’s organic farming technology and processes in agriculture and aquaculture.
The following community leaders and representatives from the nominated pilot areas were present during the dialogue and site assessment: Rapu and Tribal Chieftain Ernesto Doroteo of Purok Libis, Sitio San Ysiro, Brgy. San Jose, Antipolo City; Antipolo City IPMR, Mr. Gerardo Doroteo; Barangay IPMR Rico Gonzales of Brgy Mamuyao, Tanay Rizal; and IPO President, Mr Michael Padis of Brgy. Sta. Ines, Tanay Rizal.
During the actual site assessment in Purok Libis of Sitio San Ysiro, Rapu Ernesto Doroteo and IPMR Gerardo Doroteo took the opportunity to show to the NCIP some of the 2,500 grafted Pomelo saplings they received from the Wawa JVCo as part of its FPIC commitment to the environmental protection and agroforestry project of the community.
The community believes that their indigenous and organic farming practices, when complemented by the organic farming technology of Biomanila will increase their farm outputs and economic opportunities.
